Job Title: EMT Profession: EMT Specialty: EMT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: New Mexico EMS License or Provisional Certifications: BLS, EMT, EMT-B, NM EMS License or Provisional Must-Have: No local applicants within a 100-mile radius. COVID vaccine: optional. Flu vaccine: required with medical/religious exemptions only. No RQI certifications accepted. First-timers are not accepted. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Pending state license is accepted. Description: This position functions as an EMS unit on-site, caring for individuals in a correctional facility. The role involves providing emergency medical care to incarcerated individuals and correctional officers. Skills required include CPR, AED use, taking vital signs, and airway management. The EMT will also be responsible for patient transport, applying restraints, and managing behavioral emergencies. Knowledge of electronic medical charting is preferred. Candidates should have experience with vital sign equipment and emergency department protocols. Effective communication with interdisciplinary support teams is necessary. Familiarity with special procedures in correctional settings is preferred. The facility is smoke-free, and there are no designated smoking areas.
