Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Pending licenses accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: Epic charting system experience required Previous charge experience preferred Description: The Pediatric PeriAnesthesia Unit is a specialized unit focusing on pediatric preoperative and postoperative care. It is designed to provide care for pediatric patients requiring overnight observation or an extended recovery following surgery. This unit offers comprehensive, family-centered care from preoperative preparation through postoperative recovery and surgical observation. Nurses collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgery, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver individualized care. They perform ongoing assessments, manage pain and recovery, provide patient and family education, and coordinate safe discharge planning. Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills are essential for recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition.
